After last week's stunning win over league leaders Radlett and the return of Mat McHugh and Antony Di Blasio, the team travelled to Haileybury with high hopes, but returned with their tales firmly between their legs.
The night got off to a bad start as Sean Davies suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Dan Gaskell. The hosts quickly went two up as Lily Main failed to deal with the low ceilings as she lost 3-0 to Julian Webb. The night went from bad to worse as a clearly injured and hampered Paul Main lost by the same score in very short order to Rob Battell. With the tie already over, Antony struggled with the awkward Ashley Foster. On another night the match could have easily gone the other way such were the tightness of the games. It was left to Mat McHugh to salvage a sliver of pride for LDS as he triumphed 3-0 over Adam Gourpinar.
The team return home next week to face Chantry, hoping for an improved performance and result
