LDS resumed their league campaign on Tuesday 12th November away to Radlett 4 and what a dramatic night it was.
First up was Antony Di Blasio at third string who ran out a comfortable winner 3-0, whilst on the other court captain Paul Main, back after a month out, struggled in the first two games but staged a brave fightback to level at 2 each before the lack of fitness told and Radlett levelled the tie. Such was the speed of Di Blasio's win and the length of Main's match that second string Mat McHugh was already 2-0 up against his opponent by the time he had finished. McHugh finished quickly as Lily Main raced to an early lead. Main then lost the next two, but in one battled back from 12-5 down to lead 13-12, before inexplicably losing momentum and losing it in a tie break. Main was not giving up without a fight and levelled to take it to a decider. Meanwhile another titanic match was underway on the other court as the no 1 strings battled it out with Sean Davies losing the first before battling back to lead 2-1. In the fifth string battle the Luton youngster showed great composure and maturity to take a lead in the fifth which in truth she never looked like relinquishing to take the match for LDS. Davies was also returning from absence and despite battling back in the fifth to level at 13 each, found his opponent too strong and lost 3-2.
