The LDSC annual Doubles Tournament was held on the 1st December and the worthy winners were Sean Davies and Cameron Bentley-Chessum. The afternoon saw some good natured but competitive squash with pairs of all ages. The youngest pairing was Lily and Natalie Main whilst the oldest was Dave Merrell and Paul White. Merrell and White had a combined age which was over 100 years more than the Main sisters and the winners.
The winners’ trophy is named in memory of Chris Simms whilst the runners up cup is named after Pete Hilliard. Both players were long time participants in the Thursday evening doubles games organised by Phil Driscoll.
The picture shows Chris’s widow Angie presenting the cups to the winners and runners up. The entry fees were augmented by a very generous donation with the proceeds going to the Keech Hospice as usual.
If anyone would like to try doubles then please get in touch with the Secretary Paul White.
