Brave show by Jasmine and Hannah

Jasmine Watson and Hannah Stevens (pictured above) entered this weekends Peter Nichol Junior Open at The Hunts Country Club near Cambridge.  An England Squash sanctioned Bronze event  it is the second in a series of five open tournaments played around the East of England this season.  Needless to say the quality was high with their opponents ranked 15, 20, 21 and 30 in the UK girls U13 category.

There were two groups of three round robins with the top two playing in the final, the second two for third and fourth and the thirds playing for fifth and sixth place.  Hannah and Jasmine, still new to tournament squash came third in their groups and played off for fifth and sixth place with Hannah taking the honours.

The next in the series is in Suffolk at the end of November with plenty of court time and practise between now and then

Tough task set for Hannah and Jasmine

Two of LDS's brightest youngsters Hannah Stevens and Jasmin Watson head off tomorrow to take part in the latest leg of the Peter Nicol Junior Challenge series. The national series of events is being hosted on this occasion at Hunts Club in Cambridgeshire.

Both girls face tough challenges against nationally ranked players, Jasmine in particular faces the daunting prospect of getting on court with Nadine El-Refee, ranked 15th in England.

I am sure all members wish them well and they will surely return as better players for the experience.
