 Club Policies
England Squash has a desire and a duty to provide services
fairly and without discrimination and is fully committed to the
principles of equality of access and opportunity.
England Squash, and its affiliated clubs, has a duty to ensure
that no participant, volunteer, job applicant or employee receives
less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, gender, ethnic
origin, disability, race, colour, parental or marital status,
nationality, religious belief or sexual preference or to be
disadvantaged by conditions or requirements that cannot be shown to
be relevant to the requirements of the activity
England Squash Whistle Blowing Policy
Principles
- Everyone should be aware of the importance of eliminating fraud
or wrongdoing. Report anything that you become aware of that is
illegal.
- You will not be victimised subject to a detriment or dismissed
for raising a legitimate matter under this procedure.
- Victimisation of a member for raising a qualifying disclosure
under this procedure will be a disciplinary offence and dealt with
under England Squash's disciplinary procedure.
- Covering up someone else's wrongdoing is also a disciplinary
offence. Never agree to remain silent about a wrongdoing, even if
it is told to do so by a person in authority.
- You will not be penalised for raising a qualifying disclosure
even if it not upheld, unless the complaint was both untrue and
made in bad faith.
- It is not the responsibility of the person reporting the
disclosure to investigate. It is England Squash's responsibility to
investigate.
- Confidentiality should be upheld in line with legislation and
government guidance. Confidentiality will be maintained during the
process to the extent that it is practical and appropriate in the
circumstances.
- Finally, maliciously making a false allegation is a
disciplinary offence.
England Squash Anti-Bullying Policy
Principles
- Bullying of any kind is not acceptable within any Club or
County providing playing opportunities for children and young
people.
- England Squash has a TELLING culture and anyone who knows that
bullyingis happening is expected to tell their Child Officer.
- Any incident of bullying which occurs will be taken seriously,
responded to promptly, and procedures followed to resolve the
situation.
- All concerns will be taken seriously and managed accordingly
within the Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Squash
Policies and Procedures.
- England Squash have a moral and legal obligation to ensure
that, when given responsibility for young people, coaches and
volunteers provide them with the highest possible standard of
care.
- All staff and members of England Squash have a responsibility
and failure to comply may lead to disciplinary action.
- It is the responsibility of every adult working in squash
whether professional or volunteer, to ensure that all young people
can enjoy the sport in a safe enjoyable environment.
- It is recognised that any procedure is only as effective as the
ability and skill of those who operate it. England Squash are
committed therefore to the effective recruitment, and appropriate
training for all professional staff, coaches, volunteers and club
members. This will enable them to work together with parents/carers
and other organisations to ensure that the needs and the welfare of
young people remain paramount.
England Squash Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in
Squash Policy
Principles
- Anyone under the age of 18 will be considered a child or young
person in relation to Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in
Squash Policy and Procedures.
- The welfare of the child or young person is the first
consideration.
- All children and young people, regardless of age, ability,
gender, ethnic origin, religious belief, race or sexual identity
have a right to protection from abuse.
- The rights, dignity and worth of all young people should always
be respected.
- All staff and members of England Squash have a responsibility
and failure to comply may lead to disciplinary action.
- All concerns will be taken seriously and managed accordingly
within the Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Squash
Policies and Procedures.
- All allegations will be taken seriously and responded to
quickly and fairly in line with England Squash Policy and
Procedures.
- It is the responsibility of safeguarding and child protection
experts to determine whether or not abuse has taken place but it is
everyone's responsibility in Squash to act appropriately and report
concerns.
- England Squash recognises the role and responsibilities of the
statutory agencies safeguarding children and young people and is
committed to complying with the procedures of the Local
Safeguarding Children Boards.
- Working in partnership with parents and carers is essential for
the safeguarding and protection of young people.
- Confidentiality should be upheld in line with legislation and
government guidance.
